Where Semiconductor Innovation Begins – A Stage for Ideas to Shine

On July 23, 2025, the DSAC Center in Da Nang officially hosted the Preliminary Round of the Expanded FPGA & MCU Design Competition 2025, bringing together 21 competing teams with more than 100 engineering students from universities across the city.

The event was more than just a competition—it provided a platform for young innovators to demonstrate their passion for technology while putting their knowledge, creativity, and teamwork to the test in a professional technical review environment. Here, theory met practice, and concepts evolved into tangible engineering solutions.

Engineering Excellence, Creativity, and Confidence on Display

The participating teams presented a wide range of innovative projects, including smart device control systems, automated monitoring solutions, energy-saving applications, and manufacturing process improvements. Every circuit schematic, presentation slide, and technical defense reflected the teams’ dedication, preparation, and professional attitude.

The competition became especially engaging during the technical presentation sessions before the judging panel, where participants were challenged not only on engineering accuracy but also on their critical thinking, analytical abilities, and problem-solving skills.

“What impressed us most was not only the participants’ technical knowledge but also their confidence and commitment to research. Several projects demonstrate strong potential for real-world applications,” shared a representative of the judging panel.

The Silent Contributors Behind the Competition’s Success

The event would not have been possible without the invaluable contributions of the judging panel—a group of respected experts from universities and technology companies who dedicated their time and expertise to evaluating projects and providing insightful feedback to every team.

At the same time, the support of technology industry partners played a crucial role by providing equipment, academic resources, and opportunities for students to better understand the practical demands of the semiconductor industry.

“This year’s competition reflects a generation of students who are proactive, innovative, and highly application-oriented. We hope this platform will inspire and empower the next generation of technology engineers,” remarked a representative of the organizing committee.

21 Teams – 21 Journeys Toward the Grand Final

Following the preliminary round, the 21 outstanding teams have advanced to the Grand Final, which is scheduled to take place on November 28, 2025. In the coming months, the teams will continue refining their hardware designs, developing working prototypes, and preparing comprehensive technical presentations.

Beyond strengthening engineering expertise, the competition also encourages students to develop product-oriented thinking, teamwork skills, and a deeper understanding of research and development pathways within the high-tech industry.

More Than a Competition – A Journey of Engineering Growth

The Preliminary Round of the Expanded FPGA & MCU Design Competition 2025 concluded with more than just a list of finalists—it opened new opportunities for learning, innovation, and professional growth. It is a place where theoretical knowledge is transformed into practical solutions, creativity is refined through collaboration, and aspirations are turned into action.

Although many challenges still lie ahead, the experience gained from this competition has prepared every participant to move forward—not only toward success in the Grand Final, but also toward becoming the next generation of engineers driving the digital era.
