On March 6, 2026, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Signing Ceremony for the “Hanoi MCU – FPGA Design Contest 2026” officially took place, marking an important milestone in cooperation among businesses and universities to create a practical technology platform for students passionate about electronics, MCU, and FPGA.

The contest is co-organized by three organizations:

  • Willas Electronic Vietnam Co., Ltd.
  • Hong Kong Gowin Semiconductor
  • School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology

In addition to representatives from the three co-organizers, the ceremony was attended by representatives from the University of Transport and Communications, Military Technical Academy, sponsors, and other partners supporting the contest.

Laying the Foundation for the Hanoi MCU – FPGA Design Contest 2026

The MOU signing ceremony marked an important milestone, laying the foundation for the implementation of the Hanoi MCU – FPGA Design Contest 2026 in Northern Vietnam.

The contest aims to provide a professional and practical platform where students can showcase their knowledge, creativity, and technical capabilities through projects based on Gowin FPGA and Sonix MCU platforms.

Through the MCU – FPGA Design Contest, participating teams will have the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to practical projects while developing essential skills in engineering design, problem-solving, research, and teamwork.

Beyond the technical challenge, the contest is also designed to encourage students to explore emerging technologies and gain hands-on experience with platforms relevant to the electronics and semiconductor industries.

The cooperation among Willas Electronic Vietnam, Gowin Semiconductor, and the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology demonstrates a shared commitment to strengthening collaboration between industry and academia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Alex Chan – General Director of Willas Electronic Vietnam, shared:

“Following the success of the contest in Da Nang, I believe that the contest will continue to gain strong momentum in Northern Vietnam, with the participation of 10 universities in Hanoi. This will be an exciting platform for students who are passionate about electronic components.”

His remarks highlighted the importance of creating more opportunities for students to engage with electronic components and develop their technical capabilities through practical projects.

At the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Thanh – President of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Hanoi University of Science and Technology, also expressed his appreciation to Willas, Gowin, and the participating partners for their collaboration in organizing the contest.

He emphasized that the program would bring practical value to both students and businesses by helping students gain hands-on experience while strengthening connections between universities and the electronics industry.
